Baby sign language is a specialized sign language used to communicate with preverbal infants and toddlers. Baby signing experts believe that frustration and tantrums can be avoided by closing the gap between desire to communicate and the ability to do so and it increases the creative use of language. Sign language for babies teaches that proper use of a sign or gesture and results in getting needs and wants met. The ability to sign basic words could prove helpful in boosting communication and providing a “bridge to the spoken word.” It may also facilitate the acquisition of verbal and written forms of communication later on. Infants who learn baby sign language also are thought to gain psychological benefits, such as improved confidence and self-esteem.

The focus of education

This course aims to build communicative bonds between parents and their little ones. Bonding is the platform from which healthy and happy children emerge.

The Magnificent Me Sign Language & Phonics Programme is tailor-made to suit each child's age. Parents will form stronger bonds with their signing children, based on satisfaction and trust, especially when toddlers become more content in knowing their needs are understood. Through the creation of look, listen and practise skills, children will develop and cultivate an interest for reading and eventually promote baby language, memory, personality and holistic development skills. Learning sign language provides babies with a powerful educational tool for early communication. Frustration and outbursts are lessened, because babies can immediately communicate their needs, before they can verbalise them.
